In addition to standard procurement requirements:
- Deep understanding of procurement practices within the industry or sector
- Deep understanding of supply chain and vendor interactions
- Deep understanding of quoting, bidding, and negotiation tactics
- Solid understanding of spend management and finance
- Experience with Supply Chain Management
- For government contractors, Apply government contract requirements, such as FAR, DFAR, ISO, NASA, CPSR,MMAS, DCAA, SOX—to appropriate agreements
Many positions now require at least:
- Good knowledge of U.S. Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, sanctions, embargos, and screening requirements
- Good knowledge of Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) EAR regulations, screening, and licensing requirements
